ABOUT 300 people turned out for the Schmooze with Manu event at Oceanic Bar and Grill in Mandurah last night

Event goers enjoyed beer, wine and canapes as they heard MKR personality Manu Feildel talk about the work of the Rafiki Surgical Missions organisation.

Feildel proved popular with the crowd as people queued throughout the night waiting to get a snap with the famous chef.

Feildel said all proceeds raised would go towards the organisation.

“Rafiki is helping the people in Tanzania with cleft lip, cleft palate and burns issues,” he said.

“Surgeons from Perth travel all the way their to help these people.”

Feildel said the organisation and the work they do proved a cause close to his heart.

“We all have kids and they’re the most important things in our lives and we’re lucky we live here in a modern society,” he said.

“In Tanzania, they have more issues that we need to help with.”

Feildel said he enjoyed his short stay in Mandurah.

“The food here is sensational,” he said.

“I saw the beautiful dolphins tonight just before the sunset which was magic.”
