JOHN Tonkin College teacher Amanda Flood has won A Day Made Better award.
She was one of 10 inspirational teachers across Australia who were recognised as exceptional teachers.
Students, parents, family, friends and colleagues nominated Ms Flood for going the extra mile and positively influencing the lives of local students.
One nomination said Ms Flood was an amazing teacher who engaged with teenage boys with disabilities with ease.
Ms Flood was selected out of more than 39,000 nominations across the nation.
OfficeMax marketing director Paul Munkley said it was an honour to reward and celebrate Ms Flood and her commitment to the classroom.
Ms Flood won more than $5000 in prizes for her school, including office products and an Apple iPad for the classroom.
