JOHN Erren is the new chair of Peel Regional Development Australia.
Canning MHR Andrew Hastie said Mr Erren had experience in the private sector, local government and with community organisations.
“He is a passionate local and I have no doubt he will be a fierce advocate for the Peel region,’’ he said.

Mr Hastie said it was essential to respond to the Peel region’s growing population while respecting its rural character.
“Over recent years, Peel’s population has exploded but we have maintained a definite rural character,’’ he said.
“We need careful planning that invests in public infrastructure like roads, rail and telecommunications.
“John understands this and will be a passionate advocate for the cause.”
