John Wiggers retires from Greenfields Primary School after 40 years of teaching

Mandurah MLA David Templeman said Mr Wiggers had been an educator with Western Australia’s Education Department for more than 40 years.

“John has dedicated his professional life to the education and wellbeing of literally thousands of young West Australians over his 40-plus years of service,” he said.

“He has been a wonderful educator and thoroughly loved his job and profession.”

Mr Wiggers started teaching in the 1970s and has taught in rural, remote and metropolitan schools over his long career.

Mr Templeman thanked Mr Wiggers for his commitment to the education and wellbeing of his students, his advocacy for the teaching profession and his passionate belief in ensuring all children had the opportunity to achieve their potential.

“John was particularly a much loved staff member at Greenfields,” Mr Templeman said.

“The Greenfields community is also very appreciative of his enduring support of the children and families from that area of Mandurah.”
