Staff ReporterMandurah Coastal Times

K9 Dog Rescue volunteers will be sleeping rough for a good cause this weekend.

Volunteers will be sleeping with the dogs in the kennels as part of Operation Sleeping Ruff on Saturday, November 9.

Money raised from the event will go towards the rehabilitation of dogs, medical expenses and the rebuilding of an old kennel.

Volunteers do not want the rescue dogs to spend another winter in poor, wet conditions in the old kennel.

K9 is also holding an adoption weekend from November 8 to 10. All available dogs will be half price, there will be plants, a jumble sale, dog merchandise and a sausage sizzle. Entry is a gold coin donation.

K9 are also seeking volunteers. Go to the K9 website and download an application form.

Donations of old blankets, sheets and towels, Glen 20, Hand Sanitiser, Detol, Bushman’s strength flyspray, fish oil tablets, dog treats and sardines are always welcome.

There is also an ongoing appeal for old and sick dogs that are in permanent foster care.
