Kwinana Freeway opened up to Lakelands residents

LAKELANDS residents will have direct access to the Kwinana Freeway for the first time with news the Mandjoogoordap Drive and Lilydale Drive intersection has opened.

Peet Limited funded the $1m project.

The intersection will reduce travel times, improve traffic flow, enhance road and pedestrian safety, and make it easier to access local amenities.

Approved by Main Roads Western Australia and built by Brerity, this intersection is the first of three new intersections set to benefit Lakelands Private Estate and surrounding areas.

Work is continuing on the connections to Mandurah Road at Banksiadale Gate and Lake Valley Drive with completion expected in mid to late 2017.

With an estimated total cost of $3.5million, all three projects form part of the original Lakelands masterplan and are designed to support pedestrian and road safety in this growing community.
