Lake Clifton: woman seriously injured in head-on crash

MAJOR Crash officers are seeking witnesses to a crash in Lake Clifton yesterday in which a 54-year-old woman of Halls Head received serious injuries.

The woman was the driver of a blue Hyundai Sedan, which was travelling north along Old Coast Road.

A 59-year-old man, who was the driver of a white Toyota Corolla, was driving south along Old Coast Road.

The two cars collided head on near the Lake Clifton Tavern at around 1.15pm.

The 54-year-old woman received serious injuries and was taken to RPH.

The male driver of the Toyota was taken to Peel Health Campus with minor injuries.

Acting Officer in charge of Waroona Stuart Butcher encouraged drivers to take regular breaks.

“There are plenty of rest bays in the South-West,” he said.

“They were right next to a bakery and a carpark.”
