Secret Harbour artist Jane Hughes is preparing for the Lakelands Shopping Centre first birthday celebrations.

LAKELANDS Shopping Centre staff are celebrating the centre’s first birthday on Saturday, June 23.

To mark the occasion, the centre will be transformed in to a community fair with free fun and activities.

From 10am there will be different activations including live entertainment, wildlife interactions, circus workshops, roaming fairies, balloon twisters and mini golf.

Other attractions will be free face painting, giant indoor games, cupcake decorating, mural painting with local artist Jane Hughes and free popcorn and fairy floss.

There will be pop up markets with an abundance of local arts and crafts and two $500 Lakelands Gift Cards up for grabs.

Lakelands regional marketing manager Amanda Clarke said the centre was established in the community.

“When complete, Lakelands Shopping Centre will have it all, a sub-regional shopping centre at the heart of the Lakelands Community,” she said.

“Your first birthday is always a special one, so we are going all out and would love the community to come and celebrate with us.”

The next phase of construction is the Lakelands Tavern, which is set to open in late 2019.
