A MAN has been charged in relation to the rape of a 62-year-old Greenfields’ woman during a home invasion.
Sex Assault Squad detectives charged the 33-year-old Maddington man as a result of investigations into a sexual assault and burglary in Greenfields on November 25, 2015.
Police allege a man broke into a Greenfields home where he sexually assaulted the 62-year-old woman at around 1:20am.

Inquiries made by Sex Assault Squad detectives led to the man being arrested last night (January 5).
The man has been charged with one aggravated sexual penetration without consent, aggravated burglary and stealing
He is due to appear in the Perth Magistrates Court today (January 6).
This is the first case before the courts where new sex offence legislation could apply.
The legislation sees a sentence of 15 years mandatory imprisonment for persons convicted of sexual penetration offences whilst committing a burglary.
The convicted person must serve 75 per cent of the maximum sentence before being eligible for parole.
