Man charged after alleged violent incident at Lakelands shopping centre

POLICE have charged a 23-year-old man after a he allegedly threatened a struck a security guard with a bladed weapon at Lakelands shopping centre on Sunday.

The incident occurred  at a supermarket and it is is alleged the man threatened the store manager and security guard with the weapon, before striking the security guard in the shoulder, causing a minor laceration.

The 23-year-old man from Madora Bay has been charged with unlawful act or omission with intent to harm (endangering life, health or safety of a person).

He has also been charged with being armed in a way that may cause fear, assault and making threats to kill.

He is due to appear before the Perth Magistrates Court today.
