RESIDENTS living on Boundary Road in Dudley Park woke up to find themselves in the middle of a crime scene on Saturday, June 20.

Police were called to a unit complex at 15 Boundary Road in relation to the discovery of a deceased man in the carport of one of the units.

They have revealed the victim was 51-year-old Sean O’Reilly.

Late Saturday night, Major Crime Squad confirmed they had charged a 47-year-old man with assault occasioning bodily harm.

Dean Kowitz appeared briefly at a Perth court on Sunday morning.

He was refused bail.

According to police, the charge of assault occasioning bodily harm may be upgraded pending the outcome of a post mortem examination.

Neighbours said the units are owned by the Disability Services Commission.

They said they had made frequent complaints to the commission about noise and antisocial behaviour.

Two of the men living within the units had restraining orders against each other.

Police were called to the scene on Saturday morning just before 7am.

Residents said they were locked inside their homes for most of the morning.

Major Crime Squad detectives and forensic officers were at the scene until late that evening.

Mr Kowitz is expected to appear in Mandurah Magistrates Court on Friday.
