Mandurah man charged with jewellery heist at Mandurah and Australind

A 35-year-old Halls Head man has been charged in relation to burglaries at the Mandurah Forum and Australind Shopping Centre.

It is alleged the man was one of four offenders who used a Mitsubishi Pajero to force open the doors of the Australind Shopping Centre on March 5.

It will be alleged the man smashed open the door to the Australind Jewellers using rocks and stole a quantity of sterling silver jewellery.

Police also claim the man entered a pawnbrokers at the Mandurah Forum Shopping Centre at about 9.45am on May 11.

It is alleged the accused smashed a display cabinet with a tomahawk axe before stealing a quantity of jewellery.

Police claim he was driven from the scene by an accomplice in a maroon Ford Falcon, which was later set alight.

The man is next due to appear before the Stirling Gardens Magistrates Court on Wednesday, July 22.

Police are still seeking to identify the other three offenders believed to be involved in the burglary on the Australind shopping centre and jewellers. They are also trying to find the second man involved in the Mandurah robbery.
