Man dead after Mandurah boating incident

A MAN has died after a boating accident in the Peel Inlet this morning.

About 1.15am, WA Police received information about an incident near Boundary Island which caused two people in a boat to be thrown in to the water.

The vessel they were on, now with nobody on board, continued on without them and was missing for several hours but has since been found.

Police are still trying to establish the circumstances around the incident.

Another vessel stopped to assist the two men in the water.

They were taken back to the Mariner’s Cove boat ramp where police and St John Ambulance personnel met them.

Tragically, the passenger on board the vessel, believed to be a man in his 30s, died as a result of the injuries he received.

The skipper of the vessel, a man in his 20s, is assisting police with their investigation.
