Police indicated for Bain to pull over. He initially stopped before shooting off down a dirt road that led to Newdegate Golf Course.

Police chased him at speed onto the golf course.

Bain hit a tree on fairway 11 but kept going despite black smoke pouring from the vehicle and eventually came to a stop in front of the Ladies Tee.

Bain and a passenger exited the car with a dog.

Police then found a tobacco cannabis mix in Bain’s pocket as well as a bong and grinder containing traces of cannabis in the car.

Bain was sentenced to a eight-month jail, suspended for 12 months and was suspended from driving for just under three years. He was also fined $2000.
