Man on the run after sex attack on pensioner

A MAN is on the run after trying to sexually assault a woman in her 80s after breaking-in to her home south of Perth.

The man, who is described as in his early 30s with olive skin, gained entry to her Greenfields home about 2.10am on Sunday.

Police say he then grabbed the woman and tried to sexually assault her before leaving.

A spokesman for WA Police said: “As a result of the assault, the elderly woman received bruising and abrasions to her face and swelling to her hand.

“Detectives have released an image of a man who they believe may be able to assist them with their investigation.

“The male was seen in the vicinity of Lakes Road in Greenfields just prior to the incident.”

The man is about 180-185cm tall with short dark hair, and was wearing a dark t-shirt and trousers.

Police are appealing for anyone with information, dash-cam footage or CCTV from the Lakes Road area between Pinjarra Road and Waldron Boulevard in Greenfields around the time of the incident to get in touch.
