Man threw glass bottles at police car

A MANDURAH man threw glass bottles at a police car because they would not give him a lift home.

Jed Troy Carlin pleaded guilty to damaging a police car when he appeared in Mandurah Magistrates Court on November 22.

Police Prosecutor Tamara Read said Jed Troy Carlin was at Smart Street Mall when he decided to throw three discarded glass bottles at the police vehicle.

One of the bottles struck the windshield, causing substantial cracks.

The bottles caused $322 damage.

When asked why he had thrown the bottles, Carlin told officers he was angry that police would not give him a ride home.

Magistrate Anne Longden called the incident a “ridiculously stupid thing to do.” Carlin was fined $800.
