A BRAWL that started at Mandurah’s Brighton Hotel on Sunday night and spilled into a nearby laneway has left one man in an induced coma.
The victim, 52-year-old Scott Hefford, is in a stable condition at Royal Perth Hospital (RPH).
Mr Hefford sustained serious head and facial injuries during the fight.
He was taken to Peel Health Campus following the altercation before being transferred to RPH for surgery.
Detective first class senior constable Zoe Blake said the incident began about 11.15pm on Sunday night in the hotel beer garden.
More than 20 people spilled out into the laneway.
“We are still reviewing CCTV,” Det Blake said.
Police tape surrounded part of Barrack’s Lane on Monday morning.
Mr Hefford’s daughter wrote on Facebook that one man knocked Mr Hefford out and “then the four blokes continued to kick his head in”.
Detectives confirmed that there were four people and a woman involved including Mr Hefford.
No one has been charged over the incident but Mandurah detectives confirmed they are speaking to persons of interest.
