Mandurah among WA’s most popular Easter destinations

MANDURAH is in the top five of WA’s most popular Easter destinations, according to Watif.com.

With the Easter long weekend around the corner, online travel site Wotif.com revealed the most in demand holiday destinations in WA, with the wineries and the beaches of Margaret River taking out the number one position.

Demand for local travel is predicted to continue in 2017, with recent research from Wotif showing 73 per cent of Aussies are opting to travel domestically .

The same research also found that beach towns such as Margaret River and Broome feature on 44 per cent of people’s wish lists for the year ahead.

Wotif.com travel specialist Kirsty La Bruniy said the Easter long weekend was one of the most popular times of the year for holiday makers to getaway for a quick break.

“It’s positive to see strong demand in Margaret River, with the region’s many vineyards, beaches and proximity to Perth drawing in the crowds.”

Wotif research shows shorter breaks outside of the major capital cities are set to be popular in 2017, with 63 per cent of people admitting they prefer to holiday in their own backyard as it has some of the best travel experiences in the world.
