Mandurah Baptist College hosts FISH

MANDURAH Baptist College hosted the Foundation for Indigenous Sustainable Health for the Year 7 students’ cultural day on Wednesday.

The day included a range of activities aimed at teaching students about the Bindjareb people, the original custodians of the region.

The day began with a lighting ceremony led by Elder Koodah Cornwall, followed by a traditional dance by the Manjar Marmin Dance Theatre Group.

Students then formed groups to take part in tapping sticks, traditional damper making, making an Aboriginal bracelet, Dreamtime stories, face painting and a range of other activities.

The day finished with the students performing a celebration dance.
