Mandurah Baptist College student receives Duke of Edinburgh Gold Award

MANDURAH Baptist College Year 12 student Ellis Blockley was awarded the Duke Of Edinburgh Gold Award by Governor Kerry Sanderson at Government house.

Ellis was one of 20 in WA receiving the award.

In order to meet the application requirements, Ellis did a variety of volunteer work and community service work such as volunteering at a church youth group each week.

He also volunteers at a local surf life saving club as a Bronze Medallion patroller.

Ellis also became an intern with Initiate International, a company that led Ellis on a mission trip to Kenya last year and to Cambodia later this year.
