MANDURAH Baptist College donated funds to student Sophie Burton and her mother Nickie, who participated in the Prostate Cancer Ride.

The two-day ride involved a 300km trek from Perth to Margaret River.

The ride aimed to raise awareness of prostate cancer.

Mrs Burton said prostate cancer had affected her family.

“We wanted to raise awareness for men to man up and get the test done,” she said.

More than $200,000 was raised from the ride.

Funds raised will go to the Prostate Cancer Foundation Australia to provide resources for men diagnosed with prostate cancer and specialist nurses.
