MANDURAH Baptist College Year 11 students held a bake sale to raise money for Operation Christmas Child.
The Children, Family and Community class organised the fundraiser after guest speaker Dianne Brough told them about the charity.
Students raised $388 to send shoeboxes of gifts to underprivileged children in Vietnam and Cambodia.
They also make handmade gifts in class to fill their box with something special, something to love, something to wear, something for school and something for personal hygiene.
“This teaches, not only skills in the making of the handmade items, but also how to give generously to someone less fortunate than yourself,” teacher Jean Kayne said.
