Victoria RificiMandurah Coastal Times

MANDURAH’S Barnyz PIMP MY PIE will stray away from selling traditional, humble pies and instead allow customers to create their own.

Barnyz pie shop opened in December last year in Mandurah’s Smart Street Mall.

According to chef and owner Barnyz Devery, his pie store is the first of its kind in WA.

“I wanted there to be options for people and I love using puff pastry so the solution was simple – cook a puff pastry case and make a well to fit stuffing in so then the customer can put anything in it,” he said.

“No one’s limited.”

The Halls Head resident said he wanted to create something that has never been seen before.

“I want customers to have value for their dollar and value for their buck,” he said.

“Is it groundbreaking? I’m not sure, but it’s definitely different.”

Barnyz said pie filling options include 14-hour cooked steak, pork and vegies, butter chicken, seafood chowder and smoked fish.

Customers can also choose toppings including garlic, red onion, capsicum, spring onions, chill and then add their favourite sauce.
