Mandurah bridge photo comp links the old and the new

MORE than 60 people entered 100 photographs of Mandurah’s past and present bridges with the theme ‘Transformation’ in the Mandurah Bridge Photo Competition.

Children’s Award winner Heidi Beal-Daniels was praised for her original and captivating work.

Brodie Hine won the Youth Award, with the judges saying the photo might be the first of many iconic photographs of the old bridge’s pillars juxtaposed with the new.

The Open Award went to Veronika Sajova and Cindy Bosveld when the judges could not split their works.

Benjamin Mountain took the People’s Choice Award.

The new bridge is the third since the first bridge was built in 1894.

One of the winning photos will be displayed in the City of Mandurah council chambers.
