Mandurah Community Christmas Pageant to roll through town again

Jill BurgessMandurah Coastal Times

IT is only a matter of days before the streets come alive with colour, creativity and carols as the Community Christmas Pageant rolls through town.

This year’s pageant, presented by Acton Mandurah, will add sparkle to the season with entertainment, fun activities and the chance to meet Santa in his special grotto on Tuesday, December 12.

Pageant entries have closed and more than 40 floats will travel along the route, which starts in Hackett Street.

Highlights include Santa’s Grotto, a live nativity scene performed by Foundation Christian College, carols and a firework spectacular at 8.30pm.

The City of Mandurah aims for all its events to be accessible and for the first time, Santa will be able to communicate in Auslan.

The council is also calling for volunteers and pageant marshals.

Local laws now prohibit any dog from attending major City of Mandurah events.

Staged road and water closures will be in place between 2.30pm and 9pm.
