A HALLS Head family are ecstatic after they got a seven seater vehicle with a wheelchair lift.

The family can now take their son Ziggy (6) to school and medical appointments without much fuss.

Ruby Dalingay said the Mandurah community had rallied to help raise the $45,000 needed for the vehicle.

“Many local charities helped, such as Mayday and the Lions Club,” she said.

Ms Dalingay got the vehicle last week and said it made life so much easier.

“There is a lot less lifting,” she said.

Ziggy is one in 18 people around the world living with Vici syndrome – a severe, neurodevelopment, progressive disorder caused by a mutation in the inherited EPG5 gene.

The disorder affects Ziggy’s motor development, vision and hearing.

There is no cure but Ms Dalingay said her son’s condition was treatable.
