Mandurah Concert Band gets grant to support volunteers and performances

MANDURAH MLA David Templeman has presented Mandurah Concert Band with a $6216 Lotterywest grant to support volunteer musicians and public performances in Mandurah.

Mr Templeman said the band had a strong history in the region.

“They have won several awards and played at many important events including the opening of Mandurah Performing Arts Centre,’’ he said.

“The concert band performs at a number of important annual civic events including our much loved Australia Day celebrations.

“I am also a very proud patron of the band and the grant will help in the further development of Mandurah’s cultural sector and support our local musicians continue to learn and improve.’’
