Mandurah: couple attacked by gun wielding men

IN Mandurah, a man was hospitalised after he was assaulted by men with guns early Wednesday morning.

Mandurah Detectives need witnesses to the incident near Mandurah Aquatic Centre to assist them in identifying those responsible.

Around 1.30am on Wednesday, September 2 the victim was with his 30-year-old female partner in the car park of the Mandurah Aquatic Centre near the Mandurah Forum Shopping Centre.

A light blue coloured BMW pulled up at the car park and four people left car.

Two of the people had guns and one of them could have been a shotgun.

They approached the victim and his partner in their car and one of them smashed the victim's driver's side window.

The victim was then dragged from the car into nearby bushland where he was assaulted.

He received a serious head injury during the assault and was admitted to hospital for treatment.

Detectives said nothing was stolen from the couple.

Police urge witnesses to the incident to call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.

In particular, they need information on the light coloured two door BMW seen in the area.

Police said members of the public should not approach the occupants of the car if they see it and to call police on 131 444 or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
