She was collecting glasses when she saw the accused reach over the bar.

The victim yelled at him to stop.

Darvill walked behind the bar where the victim told him he should not steal alcohol.

He walked up to her and pushed her.

The barmaid poured a drink over his head.

Darvill pleaded guilty to one count of common assault.

Counsel for the accused said he was intoxicated when he pushed the young woman.

Counsel said Darvill was aware of the problem he had with alcohol.

Darvill was fined $1500 and ordered to pay $169.10 in costs.
