Mandurah Court: man caught with hydro setups and 11 plants

A MAN caught with two hydroponic set-ups, 11 cannabis plants and 3.8kg of cannabis material was placed on a 12-month community based order (CBO) in Mandurah Magistrates Court today.

Clifford Kevin Jenkin pleaded guilty to cultivating cannabis, possessing drug paraphernalia and possessing cannabis.

Police prosecutor Tamara Read said police searched a house on Church Street, Dwellingup on October 4 and found the cannabis.

Jenkin’s lawyer said her client had health issues. She said Jenkin had surgery and thought he had cancer. Jenkin grew the cannabis solely for cancer treatment, but it turned out he did not have cancer.

Jenkin, who is on a pension, must undergo supervision and program requirements as part of his CBO.
