THE 20th Channel 7 Crab Fest was again a huge success.

Highlights included cooking demonstrations, stage entertainment and a stunning fireworks spectacular.

One of the most popular events was the free Community News-sponsored Perth Kombi Booth, which boasted big queues of excited youngsters and adults, who selected wigs and face pieces before having their photos taken.

About 580 groups, or between 1800 and 2000 people, were photographed.

Mayor Rhys Williams said the City could not be more delighted with the weekend.

Mr Williams thanked Channel 7, Livelighter, Healthway, Tourism WA, Nova 93.7, Harvey Norman Mandurah, council staff, police, emergency services and 150 volunteers.

“This is a special event, the biggest free festival in WA and a chance to show the world what we already know is a great community with much to offer,’’ he said.
