Mandurah dad who spat on police vehicle receives hefty fine

A FATHER who spat on a police vehicle received a hefty fine when he appeared in Mandurah Magistrates Court on Friday .

Timothy Andrew Rykee, who represented himself, pleaded guilty to disorderly behaviour in public and obstructing public officers.

Police prosecutor Constable Sean Discombe said Rykee was intoxicated and shouted using foul and absurd language on the road in Greenfields on March 25.

He was arrested for his behaviour but continued and spat on a police vehicle, pushing past the police’s restraint.

Rykee said he was “embarrassed” by the situation.

Magistrate Anne Longden said his offences were “serious”, especially the way he treated the police.

She fined him $1000.
