Rachel FennerMandurah Coastal Times

MANDURAH has an adorable new addition and it will need a name.

Mandurah Cruises announced the birth of the dolphin today after the calf was spotted yesterday.

The mother of the newborn is Malika and Mandurah Cruises will be running a naming competition on Facebook.

The calf is only a day or two old; it was spotted in the Harvey Estuary with a pod of 15 and some of last year’s calves.

This is the first inland Mandurah dolphin calf born this year, however it joins two coastal calves.

The pod is made up of Hayley and her calf Comet, Bowie and her calf Ziggy, Sweetpea and her calf Sugarsnap and others.

Mandurah Cruises wrote on social media that this is their favourite time of the year because of the number of newborn dolphins along their cruise route.
