Skewers, Baked and Buttered and Sun Forum are among the businesses which will close until early 2018.

Sun Forum owner Melissa Wu said the business was one of the longest operating in the food court. It opened in 1995.

She said it would have a little holiday until it reopened next year.

Ms Wu encouraged her customers to come in so she could thank them for their support.

A Skewers employee said they were worried about what they would do for work until the business reopened.

The food court will close to allow for the next redevelopment stage at Mandurah Forum.

Centre manager Jacqueline McKenzie thanked the food court retailers for their contribution to the community over the years.

“We look forward to welcoming some of them back in the new food court in 2018, as well as the fresh food market hall mid-2017,” she said.

“Until the fresh food market hall opens mid-2017, we encourage customers to check out The Coffee Club, Matsu Sushi and Boost Juice for a bite to eat.

“In addition, Coles and Woolworths offer a selection of grab-and-go options.

“To minimise any inconvenience for our visitors, we are working with remaining food outlets to maximise their offering during this time and setting up additional seating pods for customers to use.”
