Mandurah: Foundation students debate home schooling in grand final

Jill BurgessMandurah Coastal Times

THE Year 9 Foundation Christian College debating team is preparing to compete in the grand final of the WA Debating League competition on Monday.

The junior division team will make the negative argument That We Should Ban Home Schooling against Mandurah Catholic College.

Principal Andrew Newhouse said the college had been training Year 9 students in the art of debating for three years and it was the first time they had reached the grand final.

“In anticipation of reaching the grand final, our students will have the chance to host the event in our performing arts centre which will add to the prestige of the event,’’ he said.
