Mandurah: four-way stop sign configuration at Forrest and Gibson streets removed

TWO stop signs at the Forrest Street and Gibson Street have been removed.

The previous four-way stop sign configuration was a source of confusion and amusement for many drivers.

According to Main Roads WA, the four stop signs were installed because the right of way was changing at the intersection.

Research showed that by removing stop signs without warning increased the chance of accidents.

The right of way has now changed from Forrest Street to Gibson Street; drivers now approaching the intersection on Gibson Street must stop.
