Mandurah: hospital admission keeps Comancheros member from facing child porn charges

Rachel FennerMandurah Coastal Times

A PATCHED Comancheros outlaw motorcycle gang member did not face child porn charges at Mandurah Magistrates Court today because he had been admitted to hospital with chest pains.

Kevin Leslie Milgate is due to plead in relation to 13 charges of using a carriage service to access child pornography material.

The Department of Public Prosecutions (DPP) sought to have Mr Milgate’s bail conditions changed.

However, Magistrate Vivien Edwards said she did not have a copy of Mr Milgate’s bail conditions and relied on a screenshot of the bail papers on Mr Milgate’s partner’s mobile phone to reinforce them.

Without the original papers though, Magistrate Edwards was not able to agree to the DPP’s request for a variation on the conditions.

The conditions state that Mr Milgate is not to use a mobile phone with internet capabilities, he must sign a $10,000 personal undertaking and not to associate with known bikies whose names were read out in court.
