A 24-year-old man pleaded guilty to punching a male several times at the Monkey Bar and Lounge when he appeared in Mandurah Magistrates Court today .

Luke Thomas Campion was charged with three counts of common assault.

Campion was with his partner at the time of the incident.

A discussion between a male unknown to him and his partner led Campion to react and punch the male victim several times.

Campion’s lawyer told the court he could have left the venue, but he overreacted.

The lawyer said Campion had just returned from his FIFO work that day and was fatigued.

She said he felt remorse about his actions and was it completely out of character.

Magistrate Anne Longden fined Campion $700, which is to go to the victim, and also granted him a spent conviction order.
