Mandurah man calls for changes to traffic lights

GREENFIELDS resident Neil Ware claims there is a lack of consistency with traffic lights around Mandurah.

The former World Rally Championships safety martial said the Lakes Road and Pinjarra Road intersection at Coodanup was particularly bad.

“I’ve sat through three sets of lights trying to turn right off Lakes Road,” he said.

“They barely let two cars through at a time.”

Mr Ware also took issue with the Anstruther Road and Pinjarra Road intersection.

He said traffic would get backed up on Pinjarra Road with vehicles waiting to turn right onto Anstruther Road.

Mr Ware learnt about traffic flows and road closures when he worked for Telecom.

A Main Roads spokeswoman said it would review the signal phasing at the intersection of Lakes Road and Pinjarra Road in coming months.

A City of Mandurah spokesman said there were no plans to review the Anstruther Road and Pinjarra Road intersection.
