Mandurah: man caught with magic mushies

GETTING caught with magic mushrooms cost a man $600 when he appeared in Mandurah Magistrates Court today.

Matthew Steven Graeme McIntosh pleaded guilty to possessing a prohibited drug, possessing drug paraphernalia on which there was a prohibited plant and stealing.

Police prosecutor Sean Discomb said McIntosh stole $51 worth of diesel from Bunbury on December 4.

McIntosh was stopped by police on the South West Highway near Waroona and was found with 3g of magic mushrooms and a smoking implement in his car.

McIntosh said he had financial issues and did not have his wallet when he took the fuel.

He said he had depression and he took the mushrooms to self-medicate.
