Mandurah man charged over alleged $50 note fraud

Victoria RificiMandurah Coastal Times

PINJARRA police have charged a Mandurah man (53) with fraud offences in South Yunderup after he allegedly performed a ‘sleight of hand’ trick leaving two retail stores out of pocket $50.

Police claim the man entered the stores, handed over $50 to purchase a small item and then offered a smaller note, requesting the original $50 back.

Police allege he would conceal the $50, engage the staff member in conversation and then ask for his $50 back.
