Mandurah: man fined for punching train window

A MAN who punched a Transperth train window causing more than $1000 damage was fined $200 in Mandurah Magistrates Court today .

James Edward Lankester was not in attendance when he was sentenced for attempted unlawful damage to a Transperth train window.

A Transperth prosecutor said Lankester was having an argument with his girlfriend on the Mandurah train line at 10.55am on March 20.

After the argument, Lankester punched the window of the train and fled the scene.

Transperth later identified Lankester and he was charged.

Magistrate Anne Longden viewed images of the damage and fined Lankester $200 and ordered he pay $1063 in compensation.
