TRUFFLES, olive oil, cheese, wine and eggs are just some of the culinary delights to feature in a new TV series that starts tonight on West TV.

The premiere of the six part series Food and Wine Trails of WA was held in Perth last Monday and was the brainchild of Mandurah resident and Citrus Marketing boss Jon Ring.

Mr Ring wanted to promote WA around Australia and beyond.

“We have a lot to offer in WA and Mandurah and Peel feature strongly in the series,’’ he said.

Perth chef and show presenter Maurizio Di Ciano takes viewers on the journey and samples delights from around WA while cooking up some mouth watering delicacies.

Local businesses that feature in the series include Oceanic Bar and Grill, Spudshed, Three Rivers Brewing Co, Mandurah Houseboats, Drakesbrook Wines, Jetty’s Bar and Grill and Kebab Masters.

Regional Development, Agriculture and Food Minister Alannah McTiernan was on hand to open the proceedings and later presented Food and Wine Institute of WA Awards to the businesses featured.

The first show in the series is on West TV tonight at 8pm.

There will be repeats every Saturday at 7.30pm.

The show will also air in Melbourne before going out on an international basis.
