Mandurah’s Glenn Cornish and his Ninja Turtle team are taking part in the Variety Bash.

GLENN Cornish (Mandurah) and Tony Italiano (Singleton) will both field teams in this year’s Variety Diamonds and Pearls Bash.

Mr Cornish’s team is called the Ninja Turtles in a Ford, while Mr Italiano’s entry is called the Penguins of Madagascar.

The race starts in Kununurra this Sunday, August 21 with a convoy of 29 cars and 89 participants.

They will embark on a trip of a lifetime for a weeklong adventure, travelling through the top end of WA to raise money for Variety – the Children’s Charity of WA.

Participants have been busy getting their pre-1985 cars bash ready by choosing creative themes for their cars and organising costumes.

The trip will culminate a yearlong fundraising effort, with each new car raising a minimum of $8000 and returning cars, a minimum of $10,000.
