Counsel for the accused said Mr Hall was drug affected and trying to get inside Degioannis’ home.

Degioannis responded by going inside to get a gun.

His brother wrote on Facebook that they are hoping for a positive outcome at sentencing.

Josh Degioannis wrote that his brother is a “top bloke, who would do anything to help and protect anyone” just like he was “that unfortunate night”.

Degioannis will be sentenced at a later date.
