A MANDURAH man charged with murder, after he was accused of fatally shooting his neighbour, has been found guilty of the lesser charge of manslaughter.

Damian Degioannis was on trial this week for the murder of 42-year-old Adam Hall on November 13, 2014.

He maintained throughout the trial that he acted in self defence.

Counsel for the accused said Mr Hall was drug affected and trying to get inside Degioannis’ home.

Degioannis responded by going inside to get a gun.

His brother wrote on Facebook that they are hoping for a positive outcome at sentencing.

Josh Degioannis wrote that his brother is a “top bloke, who would do anything to help and protect anyone” just like he was “that unfortunate night”.

Degioannis will be sentenced at a later date.
