MANDURAH Detectives are investigating an indecent assault on a 20-year-old woman near a church earlier this month.

Police said a man on a bicycle approached the woman near the Sholl Street church at 9.35pm on August 7.

The man engaged the victim in conversation before grabbing her arm, forcing her to the ground and indecently assaulting her.

The victim was able to break free and the man made off towards Gibson Street on his bicycle.

The man was described as about 20 years old, fair skinned but tanned, about 180cm tall, with brown hair and unshaven. He was wearing a black jacket with a grey hood and black pants.

The man had a dark coloured bicycle with him.

Detectives would like to speak to anyone who was in the area between 9.20pm and 10pm.

They would also like to speak to anyone who was travelling along Sholl Street at the same time in a motor vehicle that may have dash-cam footage.
