Mandurah: police hunt men after two armed robberies

MANDURAH Detectives are investigating two armed robberies that occurred in Mandurah on Saturday, March 5.

The first incident occurred about 4.30pm at a hardware store on Magenta Terrace.

Two men entered the store and walked around for some time before attempting to leave the store with concealed items they had not paid for.

A staff member attempted to stop the first man, however he continued to walk out to the car park. The second man denied having anything and refused to show a receipt.

When the staff member attempted to stop the man he produced a small knife and threatened the staff member, before continuing to walk to the car park.

The staff member waited a few moments before following the man out to the car park. The man turned around and again threatened the staff member with the knife.

The two men got into a four door sedan (possibly a Toyota Corolla or similar) where two other men were waiting and left the car park onto Mandurah Road, heading north towards Meadow Springs.

The second incident occurred about an hour later at a supermarket in a shopping centre on Pinjarra Road. Two men entered the store and left with several items they hadn’t paid for concealed in their clothing.

Once they had left the store they were confronted by staff members regarding the items. One of the men produced a small knife and threatened the staff before both men left the shopping centre.

The first man was described as being in his mid-thirties, fair skinned with dark coloured hair. He was wearing a dark green jumper, blue jeans and black thongs.

The second man is described as being fair skinned, about 180cms tall with short brown hair and a beard. He was wearing a black t-shirt with a print on the front and black shorts.

Police have released CCTV images of two men who they believe can assist them with their inquiries into these incidents.
