MANDURAH police are on stranger danger alert after a man approached two children yesterday.

Police, who are treating the incident as serious, said they are looking for witnesses to a suspicious act that occurred behind the Mandurah Council office near the water.

The children were approached by a man about 50 years old, police said. He was stocky, had a ginger beard and short ginger hair and was wearing dark pants and a jumper.

Sergeant James Tipple said the two children were not young.

“It is a bit concerning,” he said.

“Parents lose sight of their older children all the time so we ask that they remain mindful of their surroundings.”

He said parents should report anything suspicious to police.

Anyone with information should contact the Mandurah Police on 9581 0202.
