Mandurah principal wins Fellowship Award

OCEAN Road Primary School principal Dean Finlay was presented with a Fellowship Award in recognition of his distinguished and sustained commitment to leadership development at the WA Primary Principals’ Association awards last week.

Board members nominate those they feel worthy of receiving the title of Fellow and Mr Finlay is only the eighth recipient of the award.

Mr Finlay has been an active member of WAPPA for 20 years.

During this time he has been an educational leader across the State in remote, rural and metropolitan schools.

Mr Finlay consistently demonstrates an unyielding commitment to give back and add value to the education leadership community, achieving it through his roles as mentor and coach for WAPPA and ACE, while sharing his expertise through written articles for WAPPA, ACEL and the newly created Research Project.

He has also worked as a Principal Consultant in the Kimberly and as a Principal Consultant with the Leadership Institute.

Mr Finlay received a Certificate of Recognition in celebration of 20 years of membership with WAPPA.
