MANDURAH radio presenter and performer Ali Hill has welcomed a baby boy.
This is Ali’s third child and in a quirky twist, all of her babies have been born a decade apart. Ali welcomed her daughter Hannah to the world at 18, son Samuel at 28 and newest addition baby Seth on August 8, at the age of 38.
“When I had Hannah, getting married and being a young mum was in vogue,” Ali said.
“Then with Samuel 10 years later it was a normal age to have kids.
“Now it’s in vogue to be an older mum.”
Ali said working in breakfast radio meant early starts and very little sleep.
“I’m getting more sleep now than I did before,” she said.
“Some nights I was getting three to four hours sleep and then having to be on the radio in the morning.”
Ali said having her daughter at 18 meant she didn’t think too much into “being a mum”.
“I wasn’t old enough to be set in my selfish ways,” she said.
“Samuel was a good age and with this one I’m enjoying it because I know it goes too fast.”
She said having children made her realise what life was all about. “I love the spread; it’s been like they’re an only child for years,” she said.
“There’s no jealousy and you’ve got helping hands. Having babies is a momentous and happy occasion and new mums should take the time to enjoy it.”
Ali plans to be back on air in six months.
“I’ll be back on the radio after Christmas,” she said.
